This weekend we were lucky enough to be guests at, $This weekend we were lucky enough to be guests at, not just one but, two international art fairs which take place in Chicago. First and foremost it was a reinforcement of why we all have planted roots in this incredible city and just how lucky we are to be surrounded by important cultural events like these. The time spent at @expochicago was truly eye opening and it was an incredible opportunity to view works from internationally renowned artists and galleries. Expo, for most of us, is about looking and enjoying, not for buying. Blue chip galleries, known for representing established, high-profile artists and commanding top prices for their works, do have a significant impact on the art world. These galleries can significantly influence the art market, setting trends, and establishing market values for certain artists and genres. The art world's disparity in price points reflects a broader economic divide, where some artworks fetch millions while others struggle to sell for a fraction of that. It has never been more apparent to me how crucial it is to embrace both sides of this coin : By embracing both, we can create a more inclusive and sustainable art world that celebrates the diversity of artistic talent and expression. Accessible art is not just about affordability; it's about breaking down barriers and making art an integral part of everyone's life. When art is accessible, it becomes a powerful tool for education, empathy, and social change. While you will never see Chicago Truborn exhibiting here, you will definitely see us there every year enjoying the show! I feel invigorated and validated in my personal mission to continue providing the opportunity for EVERYONE to participate in and contribute to the cultural conversation. It's so important for the everyday person to KNOW that art is also for them... For you. Collecting art, and even simply enjoying or understanding art, is not just for investment bankers and royalty.
